Why is there an additional charge - I thought shipping was included!?!
If you’re seeing a charge when you checkout in addition to your tier, it’s because you live in Europe (and so do we!). This is the best way we could deal with VAT using Kickstarters system. They do not allow for different currencies or region specific tax. The prices in the checkout will be stated in a way, that makes up for the currency and VAT differences that exist. So we added 13% to each reward which is about what the difference between USD and EUR. We’ll cover the additional VAT costs out of our cost, but this gets as close as we could to the $8/€8 we will be selling for when we go live.

Are Alter Sleeves tournament legal?
Tournament legality is always up to the tournament Head Judge. Judges’primary questions are “is the card still identifiable from across the table”, “is it in anyway offensive” and “can it be distinguishable from other sleeved cards in the deck” (so you could easily cut to or find it).
Sleeve design “feel” vary slightly by color, but most designs are indistinguishable without significant pressure when in double sleeves. Almost all of our test sleeves were approved for play in GP Bilbao in March of 2019.
That said, designs that are most likely to be approved are things like border extensions or full art extensions that do not cover rules text. We hope to have some indicators when our webstore is live, but it will ALWAYS be the judge’s call,
That said, the great thing about Alter Sleeves is you can always just take them off for that game if declined and put them back on when done.

Will you offer cheaper sleeves, bulk packages, etc.?
The process we’ve developed to do make Alter Sleeves is very different than mass production. Where outer sleeves or playmats are printed using screen printing type techniques we print each item to order, and they have to be aligned perfectly so we have to use very small batch runs. That means we are cost limited whether we print 100 different unique designs or 100 of the exact same sleeve.
We want to get some other machines to support our primary process though that would allow for us to do sets at a slightly lower price. This will come after the Kickstarter, but is definitely on our roadmap.

Inner Sleeves? What Kind? PVC/Acid Free? Will they fit in Dragon Shield, KMC, Kitana Outer Sleeves?
We print on an inner sleeve that is the same size and dimensions as KMC Perfect Fit bottom-loading Inner Sleeves. They are PVC and Acid-free. If you have an Alter Sleeve in a deck and the rest of the cards are in KMC Perfect Fits it should be indistinguishable when double sleeved. Alter Sleeves should fit in any Outer Sleeve that KMC Perfect Fit work in. They can be tighter in some than others, but that is normal between different outer sleeve brands.

Where can I see more examples of the available Alter Sleeves? How about the sets available?
The artists making the designs for Alter Sleeves have primarily been doing work so far not knowing if we were going to be successful and launch. Even though it was uncertain they’ve already uploaded over 200 different designs. Now that it appears the storefront will open, designs are flooding in. More new artists participate every day and designs are coming in fast.
That said, you want to be kept up-to-date with your options. So we’re building a display to show you examples of what will be available.

Will there be Add-Ons or ways to get additional reward sets?
Yes. We are working within the constraints of Kickstarter to add more options to add additional sleeves to your Backer order or add single sets. At the very least we offer this to Backers in the WebStore when it opens so you can get extra sleeves/sets during whichever phase you backed.

I don't have a credit card, how can I back?
Unfortunately this is a Kickstarter issue, and not something we can change. We recommend having a friend/family member order for you, getting a refillable debit card if those are available in your area, or waiting until after the Kickstarter and we’ll have more options available in our WebStore.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
